Fire at Thai Beverage Recycling Factory in Pathum Thani
A fire broke out at the Thai Beverage Recycling Co., Ltd. factory in Pathum Thani late on November 15, prompting an urgent response from authorities. Over 20 fire engines were deployed to tackle the blaze, which caused significant damage to the facility but, fortunately, resulted in no injuries or fatalities. The fire was reported at approximately 22:30 at the factory located in Moo 3, Bang Khu Wat Subdistrict, Mueang District, Pathum Thani. Pol. Lt. Udomkiat Jangma, Deputy Inspector of Pathum Thani Police Station, and Pol. Col. Wiwat Assawawiboon, Superintendent of Pathum Thani Police Station, immediately coordinated efforts with firefighters from Bang Khu Wat Municipality and nearby areas. The fire engulfed a warehouse used to store both glass bottles, cardboard and paper, creating intense flames that posed a risk of spreading to surrounding areas. Firefighters worked using multiple water-lines to contain the fire and prevent further damage. After more than about two hour of intense effort, the flames were brought under control. Pol. Col. Wiwat Assawawiboon confirmed that the fire originated inside the warehouse. Fortunately, no employees were working at the time of the incident, and no injuries or fatalities were reported. Authorities have requested forensic investigators from the Police Forensic Science Center 1 to examine the site to determine the cause of the fire. Central Group Hosts 20th Annual Firefighter Challenge
Central Group organised the 20th annual Firefighter Challenge at Central Village in Bang Chalong, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan. The event, held in the Zone H parking area, aimed to enhance firefighting skills, physical and mental readiness, and teamwork among the company’s own fire response teams. This year, 40 teams, each consisting of nine members, participated, totaling 360 firefighters from across the country. On November 14, Mr. Kundol Boonkrang, Senior Director of Property Management at Central Pattana Public Company Limited, presided over the opening ceremony. He highlighted the importance of the competition in refreshing firefighting knowledge, fostering camaraderie, and ensuring preparedness. The challenge tested both theoretical and practical firefighting skills through five competitive stations: 1. Physical Fitness Assessment 2. Victim Search and Rescue in Emergency Situations 3. Building Fire Suppression 4. Water Management in Firefighting 5. Theoretical Fire Safety Knowledge Test Each station was judged by facility managers, heads of Loss Prevention, and senior firefighter representatives from various Central branches, with fire safety consultants serving as final arbiters. The team with the highest combined score across all stations was declared the winner. Mr. Kundol noted that Central Pattana operates one of the largest private firefighting teams in Thailand, with over 1,000 members nationwide. The annual challenge not only serves as a training and evaluation exercise but also brings representatives from different branches together to exchange experiences and best practices. “This event allows us to ensure our firefighters remain skilled and ready for emergencies,” said Mr. Kundol. “It also fosters connections among team members scattered across the country and provides an opportunity to identify areas for improvement. Our firefighters don’t only protect our shopping centers but also assist in community emergencies, including flood response and other crises.” The Firefighter Challenge continues to strengthen the efficiency, skill, and teamwork of Central Pattana’s fire safety teams, ensuring they are prepared to respond effectively to any emergency. Yes that is exactly true. At first they said democracy would die and wouldn't sell it at any price. Twitter staff threatened to leave there was no way he could have it. Then he offered $45 billion best and final and they accepted. He got cold feet tried to back out built now Twitter wanted to make him buy it. They probably thought it would bankrupt him. So he tries to back out and finds he can't He mans up closes the deal and walks in with a kitchen sink and fires everybody. Many people laughed and said he would never get his money back. Now many would say it made him the most powerful private citizen in the entire world. His stock is doing better than ever and his private holdings are booming. I doubt he thinks much about $40 billion now. Easy come easy go for a guy like him. As JT points out the guy has the Midas touch he is worth $70 billion more than just a few weeks ago. -

Yes. It increased my bank account fourfold as I knew for sure that the fight would last the (much shorter) distance with shorter rounds and that the younger guy would win. Mentioned that to a few mates as well before the fight, we all are now much wealthier, by a factor of four! Amazing odds.
