Transporting Rig To Oz

Featured Replies

Hi

I need to transport my gaming PC to Australia and im Looking for ideas how to do this. The PC is a standard high end system with 2 ssd drives. The casing though is ridicoulsly heavy Im thinking its 20kg? but Im not in front of it to see the brand.

I was thinking just strip it down and buy another cheapie case in oz as the pc will be making a return trip to thailand for good in about 6 months. Any ideas?

I took out the hard drive and put that in carry on, then stuffed the case with socks and jocks.

Still works............ 20KG ??? thats big ?

Strip the housing and/or power supply and take the rest with you.

you took the case as luggage ?

took on as checked luggage, put it in suitcase and packed inside of the case then wrapped in a towel and all around. The HDD went with me in carry on BUT it was not 20 KG. I think I used one of those net bags the ladies use to wash undies to put stuff in side the case. It was a nothing to loose situation for me and I had no problem with it.

I am having the same problem with my kit, to UK at the moment the best I can come up with is FedEx but even then I need to take everything out of the case and pad it so nothing gets broken in transit.

maybe sell the case here on ebay and take the inside as carry on and buy a new case at destination. i think this is the best solution and not have to worry about fedex as they wont be cheap, maybe $200+?
