The Stock Exchange of Thailand has signed an agreement with the Burmese government to help set up a stock market in Burma within the next three years, Thai newspaper The Nation reports. Charamporn Jotikasthira, president and chief executive officer of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), said it agreed this week to share information and expertise with the planned Burmese bourse. He said Burma was moving fast towards establishing a stock exchange and it was expected to have a Securities Law in place within two months.
