Depends on how you ask the question and who you talk to i guess.

I asked about having my Shoei done mid last year, they told me they can do it and they'll send it away to their specialist.

I actually plan on doing mine at the end of the month and am certain they can and will do it for me.

For orignal inserts 5-6k is the norm.

For a Thai guy to do it they quoted me 1000 - 1200Baht, i have seen examples of his work and it's top notch. smile.png

ohh..... double 'standard'.....but mine is no Shoei....i think i will DIY....

I don't understand why others are getting such high quotes, for it to re-done in Thailand it should be 1000 - 1200 baht, certainly not worth doing it yourself for such a small outlay...

haha...yea..but seems they don't do other than Shoei...mine is not...

why is it a. double standard? one price for new inserts and one to have the material replaced by an unknown source thus two different price. This make perfect sense imho.

Errr, Paddock will do it for you. Just ask them to have their Thai guy to replace the foam and lining for you. Bish bash bob, job done and all for no more than 1200B

Carlos are you sure man? I would love to replace the lining for 1200 thb but they asked 6000 thb for full original Shoei lining.

I will go there and check on weekend?

Any how long it takes?

Thanks in advance.

It's not original that i'm quoting here.

1000 - 1200baht was for the helmet to be re-lined by a guy somewhere hidden in the metropolis that is bangkok.

I have seen some of his work and it's top notch, well worth the money.

You'll just have to make sure you ask for the 1000 - 1200baht repair guy. They will keep you helmet for upto 5 days, so take a spare with you before dropping it off :)

Carlos, cool man, thanks for the assistance. I will go there this weekend but leaving my Shoei for 5 days is making my heart sadsad.png

It is good that Honda bigwing gave me 'Tour Prateep Thai' special edition helmet so i might use it during these 5 days or tip them another 500 thb and get it next daybiggrin.png

I have nothing to lose for 1200 thb and bad workmanship as i am planning to buy a new Shoei on my next business trip to USA or Japan.

My rule is buying a new helmet every 5 years and i am happy to do so!
