Mini Bus From Bkk To Cambodian Border At Had Lek

Featured Replies

I have heard that there is a direct minibus that is faster than the big bus and bypasses Trat completley but I cannot find details.

Does it leave from Victory? Does anybody have a ling or further info?

Thanks in advance.

Can't help you there, but have read many reports by members who'll never take one again. They drive like maniacs.

as of yet never noted-but take a look at that sticky on minivans from Vict Mon- either in this or BKK-subforum.

ONly vans bypassing Trat are those going to Leam Ngop=Koh Chang ferry port. In fact it is IMpossible to bypass Trat-but one can use the outer ring around it-skirting ''downtown''

Very scary to be in a minivan on Chinese New Year. Take care out there!

its a long way unless you like cramped spaces. big bus to trat then van to the border makes much more sense. vans leave the bus station in trat say at least hourly if i recall more frequently if they have the passengers, after that the real shenanigans begin.

As Khun Asanee states it is almost impossible to bypass Trat heading to the border. Never heard of a direct mini van from BKK - perhaps from Pattaya for the regular visa runners? Where did you hear about it from?

Take a 1st call bus from Ekkamai or Mo Chit to Trat bus station and as Pinkie says the vans to the Hat Lek depart from the bus station every hourish. Journey takes around 90 mins.

Be aware that is used to be that the Cambodian immigration would only accept 1000- baht as payment for the visa and not the official rate of $20-. Hopefully, that outrageous practice has changed?

There are a few old threads you can search in this sub forum on crossing at this border.

+1 Bus to Trat more comfy and less heart attacks. The trip from Trat to the border will still offer enough thrills to suicide seekers. The wait at Trat bus station will be short and just long enough for some fresh food.
