Khanom (Surrounding Areas) - Land Prices? Schools? Expats? Internet?

Featured Replies

Hi, Im an Aussie expat who has been in Phuket for the last 15 years and I have a wife and 3 kids..

My family and I are wanting a major life change and we want to find some part of Thailand where we can relocate to.

I was in Khanom a few years ago and thought it was a great little place. Sichon is also a nice sleepy village.

I see by checking the real estate sites for that area, that land prices are cheaper the further you get back from the beach, which is no surprise I guess.

I see there is a few hills / moutains not far from the beach areas and was wondering what titled land prices are in those areas?

We will need a primary school for the kids, so I would like to hear from parents in the area on what they reccommend.

Is cable tv and high speed internet (3bb) available in all areas?

We will head up there this Saturday to see how we feel about the area and hopefully look at some houses to rent etc..

anyone with a cheaper house to rent (under 10k per month) , please send me a PM.

Thanks in advance. Any info much appreciated..

(we are looking at Chiang Mai, Phetchabun and other places to, but Khanom might tick all the boxes in regards to clean air, close proximity to airport, beach, cheap land and peace and quiet)

Hi

I live and work in Khanom over 4 years already.

I might have a lots of good information for you.

Please send me private message and we can talk more.

Best regards

Miki / Dusty Gecko / Khanom

Ps; Khanom is really lovely small place ;0)

It's mildly irritating to find an interesting topic on a forum, just to see someone post "I've got all the information you want, check your private messages".

Why the secrecy? I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one also interested in this part of Thailand...

Might be a member with a home to rent, and that would not be allowed on this board, hence the PM.

I would be interested in hearing about this area as well, and from any expats living near to Khanom and surrounds, as considering shifting here oueselves

Hi

Because in here cannot advertise any restaurants, land or houses, properties etc...... then is better to write PM

But in common and general issues i would like to help all who are interested of Khanom.

I used to live also in Samui 2003 - 2008 but it grow too large and hectic. ( + crimes, traffic, prices etc.........)

Khanom is good place to stay. Small and quiet, no lady bars, you can find from here still that original thai smile and locals are willing to help u with any profit.

For some people this can be too small and quiet????

Wait few more years and then this is optimal place to be.

Short way to 3 airports and in 3 hours car driving you can reach Andaman side.

There is few primary schools and secondary school too.

Welcome to Khanom ;0)

That's not correct. Members may recommend restaurants, land, and houses ... so long as the member is not connected with any business associated with the recommendation.
