Are Previous Versions Of Edited Posts Stored Or Viewed?

OK, kind of a geeky question, but here goes anyway.

I usually edit my posts, sometimes quite a lot, during the allotted editing time limit.

Sometimes the final post is very different from the first version, for a myriad of editing reasons.

For you guys on the inside running this show, do you have access to previous versions of posts and/or are they ever actually looked at?

We don't store it on our servers, but various search engine spiders may have indexed the content already.
