Nobody said they are world beaters, however, it was a good performance against a heavyweight nation. That looked like England out there !! And what skill and flair! That's a good team for sure and a few more additions to come.

Nevertheless, England fade badly in the summer in tournamounts, and who is to say that if we get to Brazil, Wilshere will be watching fromm the stands in plaster, being kept company by Rooney and say Welbeck, while the other 2 or 3 talents grapple with hamstring and achilles problems whilst fending off the hateful press waving their voodoo dolls. And we chug in to the last 16 through dour football and stalwart defending, before going out on penalties.

So, sadly, Smokie does have a point.

They beat us 2-0 at the Library. The pies were good...the beer was warm. The girls were cute.
