[Myanmar] Burma Presidents Website Hacked

Featured Replies

Hackers targeted Burmese President Thein Sein’s Office website on Tuesday causing the site to crash. The office’s director Major Zaw Htay said there were distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on the website on Tuesday morning overloading and crashing the site. In a post on his Facebook page Maj Zaw Htay said a group calling itself the Indonesia Cyber Fighters had launched the attacks. He apologized for the inconvenience. On Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 pm the site was still down. In an unrelated incident, the Facebook page of Burmese media outlet The Voice Weekly was under cyber attack on Monday and hackers managed to upload errant messages and crash the page, which remained down Tuesday.
