If you search you will find some big discussions on this subject.........My experiance is................

I've had my Pearl White truck for almost a year now. Up until recently I used Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealent. After application the paintwork felt silky smooth, however after a couple of washes it didn't. Those little orange dots that appear on the paintwork here sometimes came off easily and sometimes they needed something a little stronger. I did have to clay the car a few times to remove those little bits that adhere to the bodywork.

Recently I changed to Autoglym High Definition Wax. After application the paintwork does not feel quite as silky as with the Wolfgang but those little orange dots and bird muck just wipe off with a damp cloth. Have a look at some of the videos on youtube re HD Wax ... and how the water runs off. All I can say is that one month on the surface is still smooth... time will tell!!

I get my car polish brought from the UK as it costs somewhat less there. Whatever you use it won't last as long as back in the UK. I also have some Autoglym body shampoo ... seems OK.

I use Meguiar's - it isn't a high-end brand but it's good quality. Their wash and wax cleaner and microfiber wash mitt are good, and their 'water magnet' drying towel is easier and quicker than a chamois. For 'polish' Meguiar's #21 synthetic sealant is quick and easy with long lasting protection. Once a year I'll use their clay bar kit.

there's a 'Thai Car Washer Club' forum - it lists vendors you can buy from. You just email what you want, transfer money to their account and they post you the products. Prices are very reasonable; I can buy a tin of Ultimate paste wax from a vendor for 1,000baht (+50b S&H) yet if you go to the motoring sections in departments stores it's a different story; I once saw the same product for an eye-watering 4,500baht in the Seacon Square mall.

For regular washing I use Meguiars Hyperwash with an

, an
and a Karcher K7.400 - provided my cars haven't picked up too many hard contaminants and I haven't left it too long between washes, there's usually no need to reach for a wash mitt - spray foam, wait 5 minutes, pressure rinse, then dry with a microfiber waffle.

When it comes to choosing polish and last-step-protection product(s) - that all depends on paint condition, color and hardness.. If you can provide some info on that, and how much work/expense you're prepared to go into, I could offer some recommendations ;)

After a few years and several thousand Baht experimenting with practically all the new sealants that have come out, I've decided that none of them are able to reach the level of finish I'm looking for - In my experience none of them can match the gloss, depth, slickness and longevity of an old school glaze & high-end wax combo. The trick there is finding the right product combo if you have a white car, as practically all glazes & waxes attempt the darken the paint - which enhances depth of gloss on dark colors, but just doesn't work out at all on light colors.

Same goes for the ceramic (AKA 'glass') coating products like Opticoat and CQuartz C1 BTW - they just dont' achieve the attributes I'm looking for the same as a good glaze & wax - so I now use what's left of them for treating external plastics only.

I use Meguiars and it works fine. It's not top shelf but does the job.

Meguiars have 3 product lines:

Meguiars (retail)

Mirror Glaze (professional - body shop)

Detailer (professional - car detailing)

Their retail products ar all designed to achieve good results by hand application, and are very hard to beat - even if spending more money - if you're not going to go to extremes with surface preparation...

Their Mirror Glaze polishes are only rivalled (but not beaten) by the Menzerna range IMHO, and their 'Detailer' range (shampoos, glass cleaners, interior cleaners, degreasers etc) are the best I've ever used, hands down.

Meguiar waxes, polishes and glazes, (except for their Next Gen Tech Wax 2.0), are Top Quality, IMHO, and have been my choice for years. They literally outshine (pun intended) the competition on dark colored cars.

The quality of a wax's finish, as with many other things, is totally subjective because everyone's vision is different. There are a few other quality products, ie., Wolfgang, etc. The trick is to find(research) for the best silky smooth, car finish protection combo that also gives you the 'look' that satisfies your eyes! Once you have 'The Look', be prepared to repeat the applications as often as necessary to maintain protection under the persistent UV rays of LOS,

Yep, there's still nothing that looks better (though some equal it) than Meg's #26 Carnuaba on a well prepped, dark color car (red and black especially).. It still has *amazing* depth of color and looks super-wet. However, compared to newer formulations, it's a PITA to use - it doesn't go on smoothly, it needs a few hours to set-up (which can be very risky in dusty environments) and it requires a ton of elbow grease to remove..

If you have a dark colored car and are a fan of Meg's #26, I'd recommend giving the Pinnacle Souveran a try.. has all the finished attributes of #26 but goes on like butter, and wipes off like water - a whole car can be easily completed in about 10-15 mins, without breaking a sweat. Being a pure carnauba product it'll only last 3-4 weeks in Thai conditions - so no more longevity than #26..
