For the past 2 -3 weeks I experience a lot of problems with Yahoo Finance, where the site is difficult to reach. If it opens it many times gives a blank page or a portfolio without any data etc.

This early evening I couldn't reach Yahoo finance at all, than after 15 minutes it came back, and now it is completely unreachable again for the past 45 minutes.

Looks like the DNS servers, have tried Google and Dtac generic servers, can't find it at all.

Since this is going on repeatedly for weeks already, I guess it isn't a good sign.

I also notice if I use the Yahoo search engine on occasion that it will deliver very poor results.

I guess if it was the DNS servers I would experience issues with other sites at the same time as well, but which isn't the case.,

Just try Google DNS or OpenDNS as one of your DNS servers and see what happens.

In the OP I mentioned already that I tried both google and dtac dns servers with similar result

I know yahoo messenger is closing down in all countries except China. Yahoo is being merged into Skype.

Not sure about other yahoo services though.

Little puzzled about the Yahoo merging with Skype as Microsoft bought Skype. Or did the deal fall through at the last moment?

Shame. How about OpenDNS?

If it's not the DNS then it will be probably be crappy routing somewhere along the line. Try using a VPN/proxy. It might be worth borrowing another router to try in place of your own also.

I think you have made a mistake there. MSN is being closed down and all accounts will be moved over to Skype. Skype was bought by Microsoft.
