Anyway the Isaanettes then proceeded to hammer dough into the slot machines,

When will Thais learn to cook farang food properly ?

Don't forget they were in the Home of the Deep Fried Mars Bar.

Not just Glasgow , London as well ! Many times I have been in casinos and full of Thai and Chinese .

Sent from my iPhone using ThaiVisa app

same as in the crown casino in Melbourne . They love gambling .But not at the slots , they gamble big time .

Have you seen the card games there with Chinese writing above them?

You could play spot the white guy at the Gold Coast casino. Although it's a major Asian tourist destination, most of the late-nighters are as described, locals floating in after work.

There are many big clubs here on the Sunshine Coast - all with pokies (slots). The Thai ladies appear to have formed some sort of co-op where they borrow from each other to play. One we know of is in over her head to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. And yes, they have husbands (some don't seem to care, and I guess others have just given up trying?).

@robblok........GooEng also mentioned Thai women being on the game in Aberdeen. Another tragedy playing out of certain Thai women being determined to destroy their countries reputation at every turn.

As always it affects the decent women as they have to live with the sniggers and insinuations when it's mentioned they are from Thailand.

ps I pulled a Kenyan hottie on Wednesday night at the Casino, I like Kenyan female's, they have attributes that set them apart.

The Casino I use is a cracking trapping point, and it's open till 7.00am, a great pitch for the last hour after the dancing.

Truth be told there are so many ex bar girls back in The Netherlands and they pull themselves down. You can recognize them easily, they pulled my ex down though she was bad from herlself already wrong values i noticed that far to late and the rest is history.

Ask yourself HOW these gambling ''ladies'' got a foot hold in UK.

I couldnt answer that, but my best guess is it's got something to do with slot machines. rolleyes.gif

The Premier League is popular overseas because of its attraction for gambling - a fair league, with quite unpredictable results.

That's why it attracts investment from Malaysia; that's why 888Bet or whateveritscalled is so popular an advertiser

Eventually in Hong Kong the government had to allow the Jockey Club to offer legal football betting because they couldn't hold back the tide. A lesson learnt there from King Canute...Unfortunately, as with Canute, it didn't work out so well, because now the Jockey Club odds were published the illegal bookies had something to benchmark against, and of course they could offer slightly better odds because they were not paying 15% tax / charitable levy

Mate of mine in aranyaprathet went for surgery in the states, while he was away, his wife gambled away the pickup and his money for his visa. All on the black market lottery. He's back now and the excuses are flying, she told him that the BIB took the pickup because SHE was caught selling lottery.

Makes you wonder how she got access to his bank account, and how she could sell a car registered in his name.

I was in the Casino in Glasgow last night watching Motherwell's fantastic, amazing and superb victory over that wee East End team Celtic, ( I'm a Motherwell fan in case your wondering ) when in strolled 3 Isaanettes, I know they're from Isaan cos I asked them just in case your wondering.

My pal recognized them from a new restaurant which has opened slap bang in the middle of Buchanan Street, the most expensive rental street in Scotland I believe, and one of the busiest shopping streets in the World. My pal commented that it was very expensive, he's an Advocate, ( the same as a Barrister in England ) and if he 's complaining about the price it must be nippy. There's been a fair few Thai restaurants opening recently though I'm not in the habit of using them. I've got it in my head that they can't compare to Thai food a la Thailand so I don't bother.

Anyway the Isaanettes then proceeded to hammer dough into the slot machines, one of them was a little older and very well turned out, she blasted away for a couple of hours then pulled a decent win. The other two seemed to have been on a loser last night. I was having a blether to the barmaid and she said they were in every night of the week after work. She also mentioned that there are a lot of Thai customers in the Glasgow casinos these days.

I've heard some horror stories about Thais getting in over their necks with gambling in the Kingdom, how serious a problem is it?

Saw the same thing last time I was home in Aberdeen.

Took a random visit to the Casino and well over half the female customers were Thai - several small groups of them, in the bar and at various card tables and on the slot machines.

A mix of restaurant staff and their mates, and according to my mates who are regulars at the casino, these gals are in there every night - gambling, drinking and some of them on the game.

My pal's the manager of one the casinos in Aberdeen - he said that there are Thais in his casino every night but they're all small players.

I went to the casino near The Castlegate last year and sat near a bunch of Thai girls. I asked one on the fruit machine next to me if she was winning(in Thai) and she seemed shocked and said a little. I asked her where she was from(in Lao) and she said 'Aberdeen' and moved away. Very unfriendly. I eavesdropped on their conversation another night and they were all low-class gold-diggers on the hunt for a rich local. They seemed miserable being in Aberdeen(which is understandable at that time if year as it was freezing)

I hate that:

"Hello Darlin' Whair you fi?"

"I'd love to talk, but I'm hoping to meet someone nice / rich / handsome / attractive here, so can we just draw this conversation to a premature end?"

"... eh.. bye"

The same is true for the casinos in Canada. They are populated mostly by Chinese, but with an almost equal number of other Asians including Thais. I have a former friend in Canada who was addicted to gambling. She gambled away her and her husbands life savings and got into hock by maxing out all the credit cards when her now former husband was away working.

Very much the same sort of impression I got of the girls I saw/met.

I rarely gamble and even more rarely in a casino - I'm useless at it - but on the occasion i mentioned in the earlier post I'd made 30 quids worth of chips to while away the time on small bets as my mates got into blowing their wages. I joined a black-jack table with one of my mates where amongst the other players a group of about 4 or 5 Thais were standing. One or two of the girls were playing small bets and the others watching.

I had a run of absolute freak luck - winning and getting good cards and I could hear them chattering and making daft comments about how I played well - they got very excited when another Chinese customers started betting on my hands.

Anyway over about 8 games had amassed over 200 quid and cashed out before my run of cards ended - much to the dismay of the Chinese bloke - and stood having a drink close-by watching the cards and exchanged "hellos" a couple of the Thai girls who seemed quite friendly, but as soon as I spoke Thai to them they did NOT want to know. They moved off and I could see them looking disapprovingly at me and whispering to each other.

(Neeranam - it was the casino on Queens road)

Thais are in any casino across the uk worth its salt guaranteed every day. Basically they do in all their money, lie, steal, beg and borrow from friends at silly interest rates. Get into a mess some get bailed out by partners, others break their lives in two and that of their families only to be alone to either return to the kingdom or through friends work a trick in the uk, spending what they have on gambling.

I have seen so many lives ruined in uk through gambling.

Their belief system really does damage. Try explaining odds etc. they just still want to be lucky today or if not then they will be tomorrow.

I have found gambling to be an evil of a shocking extent and is only growing in the uk sadly. If it has not touched you count yourself lucky.

Who knows where it will end.

I also know of a few in Thailand one in particular who won a certain European countries lotto jackpot and within 2 years had purchased apartments a villa and a hotel but after they got into cards in pattaya they lost the lot either through so called friends working together in card schools to scam them out of what they had or to their staff at hotel etc scamming them out of their business whilst their eye was off the ball.

Yes it was all her fault but in the end she was just abused by so called friends both hi so and otherwise and left with nothing. She is not unintelligent either she simply got a fix on gambling and heavily addicted. It is so easy.

Be very aware and look out. I have seen Thais in uk drop £25k in an evening. Yes they have a rich husband and it was not much of a dent but the next girl can do the same with whatever she may have and for some that may be literally life or death for their family. They get hooked super rapidly. It all starts with the slots or video roulette every time.

Past of that you get a few on table roulette and poker.

Any of them know people who have lost homes businesses, relationships and nearly driven partners to suicide. It is not a game. My opinion for what its worth, just be very careful if you think you are being flash taking a Thai to a casino for the first time for a bit of fun.

Be even more careful if they are going on their own or with friends or one day you may wake up with a shock!

I went back to the old country for the first time in several years around the time of the Pitoddrie test against Tonga. Well, obviously, that was shocking and depressing, but I was more appalled by the proliferation of fruit machines. Even at the airport in the waiting lounges.

Though I suppose the most distressing thing I have ever seen, several years ago, was an Australian pub with a bank of fruit machines, and also an ATM.

Get pissed, drain your bank account, and lose it all in the puggies, all on the premises.

I'm no puritan when it comes to gambling, but I do think, like alcohol, it should not be forced on you everywhere you go. I'd rather sit next to a smoker than a fruit machine

I have never had a problem with gambling, but some people really get addicted to it. Should be a freedom of choice in general i don't like society protecting people at the cost of the freedoms of others. Though it does make sense at times can't have it all. I actually seldom gamble it does not appeal to me that much.

Thais of all sorts can be found in these places... and just IMO but mia falang are extremely well represented. Like cocaine or crack, it's only a problem for society (and your family) when you can't afford it.
