Will be visiting BKK for a few days and am interested in the Ariston Hotel on Soi 24 Sukhumvit. Price seems good and location is great, just can't find any reviews even at the normally reliable tripadvisor.com. Is this a new hotel? any info much appreciated

It is not new by the looks of the outside of it. My last trip in, I stayed at the President Park serviced apartments, also on soi 24. I passed by the Ariston on a daily basis. It didnt look new to me but the inside I do not know. Sorry.

I stayed there once a few years back when my #1 choice (Regency Park, soi 22) was booked for the night.

As I recall, my room, which overlooked the pool, was nevertheless very dark and gloomy.

I was happy to check out the next day.

Ariston Hotel used to have a decent lunch buffet a few years ago (if you got there early enough).

Never saw anything except the lobby and dining room but the place always reminded me of a Chinese tourist hotel. I am not sure if that is fair or not.
