After the disappointment of losing his WBO World Bantamweight Title at the first time of asking Pungluang Sor Singyu (43-2) will not have to wait too long to make amends as he is set to take on Fredirex Rodriguez (10-2-1) on May 3rd.

The WBO International Bantamweight Title will be on the line and the Filipino, who has stopped his last three opponents, will travel to Thailand to face Pungluang at a venue which is yet to be confirmed.

The loss to Paulus Ambunda was only the second of the Thai fighter’s career and saw him hand over the world title he had won by beating AJ Banal in Manila last October. Rodriguez is the reigning WBO Asia Pacific Bantamweight Champion, a belt he claimed be overcoming Vincent Palicte in August.

Also set for Thailand on May 3rd is a match between Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (17-3-1) and Yota Sato (26-2-1) for the WBC Super Flyweight Title which the Japanese boxer won by beating Suriyan Sor Rungvisai in Tokyo last March. No venue is confirmed for this fight either although it is reportedly set to take place in Sisaket.
