What Does Immigration Think About Wife Hopping?

Featured Replies

[Opening this to avoid Further hijack of the "marriage pros & cons" thread]

I'm not sure if they'd even care, but I suppose they might. I ask because I recently met a guy who's on his third wife in four years here. Apparently he gets a divorce, floats on a tourist visa for a while until he finds a new wife, marries her and starts the whole non-immigrant O process over again. He's still here, so it seems to be working for him.

I suppose if he ever applies for PR in the future, multiple wives could make him look unstable and therefore an undesirable candidate. But what must immigration think when every time this guy goes back, he's got a new wife!

I don't think they track that and do not care.

Where do I sign up?

Marriage extensions are decided upon by a commitee in Bangkok, where they check if the marriage is real and a person should indeed gets the extenson.

What they will think of this is anybody's guess.

I figured this would be one of those "who knows?" Questions. I was thinking that perhaps somebody here had personal experience. Thanks anyway.
