Where Can I Buy A Samsung Camera Charger In Thailand?

Hi everyone,

I will be leaving on a trip (out of Thailand) soon...actually next week.I want to take pictures obviously, but I seem to have misplaced my charger for my Samsung camera (SL502 series). If I don't find it, I'll need to buy a new charger, and possibly a new battery. I know they sell them many places online for cheap, but I won't have the time to have it mailed to my place in time before I go. I live near Hat Yai, but will be in Bangkok before I leave, and I'd like to know of any shops that I can go to that may have what I need? I thought about just going to Tesco and asking...sorry if it seems like a stupid question, but I've never bought a camera or any other technology for that matter other than my cell phone in Thailand.

Thanks!

We had a similar problem with an Samsung camera and ended up at the Samsung shop in Seacom Square. There are probably others around in other centres too.

In our case , there were many chargers but not the right one for the camera in stock according to the code numbers because i bought the phone in Oz but later we found the gf's phone charger worked . Then, a couple days later her daughter dropped the camera whilst the lens were out and then we had no need anymore for charger, batteries or camera.

From the specifications on page 85 of the user manual the DC input voltage is 4.2 Volt and it looks like a regular USB cable is used. I wonder if a standard 5 Volt charger can be used, eg the type used for charging mobile phones, or would it damage the rechargeable lithium battery? That would be in case you can't find the correct Samsung charger for the camera in a shop in Bangkok.

Thanks everyone! Very helpful. When I'm in Bangkok I will go check out these places. Although, I was thinking there must be a samsung shop in Hat Yai, so I could try going there before I go to Bangkok. My camera charger looked like this:

I'm hoping I can find the same one, but will take whichever one will work. I have a feeling it will be expensive compared to buying it online though. Oh well...I do still have the camera car charger...but I don't have a car to charge it with, so pretty much useless!

I bought an oem charger for my Camera a few month back at Power Buy. Cost me around THB 1200. They usually have quite an assortment of OEM chargers from different companies for different camera models.

Unfortunately, Hua Hin is quite far from Hat Yai and somewhat more time-consuming to get to than Bangkok.
