TAT joins private sector in organizing "Bangkok Bike 2013"

BANGKOK, 21 March 2013 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined the private sector in organizing a campaign to encourage more people to ride bicycles.


TAT Deputy Governor for Tourism Products Vilaiwan Twichasri revealed on Wednesday that the tourism authority has joined N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd. to organize Bangkok Bike 2013, an event that features everything about bicycles.

Mrs. Vilaiwan said that bicycle enthusiasts will get to find everything they need for biking while visitors will get to know and choose to join Thailand’s first bike tourism.

The TAT Deputy Governor stated that there has been a growing trend of biking in Thailand, proven by a 20% growth of bicycle sales in the country last year.

She added that the growing trend has also been promising after records show bicycle travel sector has earned as much as 900 million baht in tourism revenue last year.

Mrs. Vilaiwan went on to say that the upcoming evening will be held under the theme “Let’s go green” and that fair-goers will learn more about popular biking routes across the country and pick up information from travel gurus as well as shop from several booths present at the event.

The TAT Deputy Governor said 30 million baht has been invested in organizing the event, which is expected to see about 200 million baht spending until the last day.

Bangkok Bike 2013, scheduled during May 2-5 at Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi.

To attract more bikes you need safety on roads and at that stage being one of the worse country in the world for road safety wont help beside the millions they want to inject in promoting a very silly idea.

this one i saw on the news... funny... in european countries you have seperate safe bicycle roads

they saw, wow, they earn 40 million euros out of that... we cna do the same

they forgot bangkok where everybody drives like they want, fumes in your fames from diesel and others

and 26.000 deaths on the roads, 70-80% from motosays

recent couple that toured all around the world with their bike and found their DEATH here, forgotten, TAT ???
