Economy Trump's Tariff Troubles: Thai Academic Sounds Alarm on Key Issues
I know who lives in a parallel universe, if they think those numbers are really what people notice when they go shopping. I don't live in the US of course, but I see the price increases in Thailand, where there is no inflation, if you have to believe the government figures, and that isn't different in any other country -

USA “America First” Fractures: Trump’s NATO Arms Plan Angers MAGA Base
The people has spoken and now with the Maga fractures, the mid-term is a foregone conclusion. As Banon said, GOP could lose 40 House seats over the Epstein files. Piled on this with the angers from the Maga base with Trump's arms decision. -

UK Trump to Be Hosted by King Charles at Windsor: Unprecedented Second State Visit
"Defender of The Faith", (in Latin "Fidei Defensor") was an honourific title given to King Henry VIII by Pope Leo X, in recognition for his opposition to the teachings of Martin Luther. Given Henry's subsequent rejection of the Catholic Faith, which has been maintained at least officially by English and then British Monarchs since (with the exception of Queen Mary between 1553 and 1558) , perhaps it is rather an empty title, particularly if you are using it to accuse the Monarch of being a Traitor! -

How do I get rid of boredom?
Curious what a typical week is like for you. How do you spend the week? I'm 73, live in Pattaya and I really am never bored. I find I do not have enough time to do everything I want to do. There are tv shows and movies I have downloaded and need to get to--plus lots I want to watch on Netflix. Ditto for mystery and suspense novels I have downloaded--lots I haven't read yet, although I do try to read as much as I can when I can fnd the time. I usually spend part of the morning exercising and swimming in our pool, trying to keep as fit as I can. I like the pool for stretching and aerobics. Spouse and I have just bought and moved to a new house--our in-between house to live in while we plan and build, hopefully, our 'forever' home. That's keeping us busy doing the planning and the shopping to make materials choices. We'll be even busier when the construction starts in a few months. Right now we are in Bangkok for a week visiting spouse's family and doing some other things while we are here. We like to travel and we have a cruise on the books for November, leaving from Barcelona and visiting Spain, France, and Italy. Some members of my American family will also be on the cruise so it will be a mini family reunion. Should be fun. I'll echo what others have said. I don't think the problem is where you are living. It's what you are doing, or not doing, with your awake time. However, if you do decide to move back to Thailand, I would suggest Pattaya again, but this time you might choose Wongamat rather than Jomtien--which is getting very congested. You'd be closer to places like Terminal 21 and Central Festival and the beach is nice. Plus, Pattaya is close to Bangkok for occasional visits and the BKK airport for travel is less than 1 1/2 hours away.
