well politics has many things to do with science. At this very moment i studiying environmental problems. Even though scientist has come with green house effect, ozone layer depletion, destroying natural resources...politicians and economists look for scientific uncertanty in order to keep going in the same way...overexploiting ecosystems. In order to stop this overexplotation we (ecologist) need to understand what are the theories governing economy and how politician deals with scientific facts...

Sure, but in class you need to learn about the subject before you can see the politics at work. So, that's what needs to be taught. Let the people make up their own mind on the politics. Schools shouldn't be doing that.

This is not only a point of view about politics...

I have study what cause ozone layer depletion (that´s why i had to study chemistry) i have study greenhouse effect (so i have study plant physiology), I have study water, atmospheric and soil proccess...

But now...politicians, economists, and society needs to know also this things in order to stop ecosystems degradation or achieve a sustainable development...that´s why the way politics words needs to be understand by ecologist as well as economy and social factors...

Well my point is that education should give you different points of views so that you can be critical and choose your own point of view.

and i learning them in University.

I understand what you are suggesting and at university levels there are classes for just this, but in a science class it should remain science. This issue of Evolution and Creationism isn't being fought at the university level. This battle is being fought at the high school and elementary level. They want this idea taught out of the gate when kids get introduced to evolution. That's the politics.

Well first i learn about creationism vs evolution at university...

One day i will like to become a school teacher...and i will like to teach all this things about politics, economy and environment because everybody should be aware of the problems and constrains that ecologist and environmental policy makers have to face everyday...this is everybody problem.

About creationisms and evolution still I think it should be taugh within evolution theory lectures...is a debate that is running nowadays...I mentioned in one of my post that i strongly agree with the evolution theory however knowing creationists points of views showed me that there are people with different ideas and by knowing them we can understand them better even though we disagree with them.

Once again I understand what you are saying but people having different opinion does mean much. That's the difference between science and religion. If you have an "opinion" in science than you must back it up. Just cause someone doesn't agree with the idea and can offer no proof otherwise does mean that the rest of the population needs to be made aware of this. It has no bearing on the science itself. Save that for a debate class.

One of the main arguments the Creationist cling to as science is the conflict in the time line,

Evolution couldn't have been in effect for millions of years because the earth (and the known universe) have only been in existence in the thousands of years, not millions, per the whole seven day Geneses fable, excuse me, fact. :D

Like Blood, Sweat and Tears said in Spinning Wheel, ... I don't believe in Heaven, and I pray there ain't no Hel.., but only my dying will tell, ... :o:D

I'm betting that H3ll isn't as bad as they say. :D

Check this out. According to the bible 'He11' is the 'grave'. And that's where we all go!

If the lion is friend with the lamb in heaven, you can bet your sweet a_ss that the lion rather wants to be in h_ell.

Interesting, because this quote is refering to the earth, here it is from Isaiah 11 vv 6-9

"6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. 7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea."

And keep reading for the events - the earth after the return of Jesus.

hel_l is paved of good intentions

That's the road to h3ll, but yes you are right it's the thought that counts. :o

Off topic, I know, but suegha's above quotes reminded me of seeing a full-grown Siberian tiger sleeping together with a full-grown grizzly bear. Talk about a strange sight! :D This was at a small, privately owned zoo. I asked the owner to explain. The story goes that the two of them grew up as cubs.

If only Porkie and I had been cribmates we might actually like each other today. :o At least he would have had one good influence in his life and could have been 'saved.' :D

Sorry about that. :D

Er, right, so was that the fufillment of Isaiah's prophesy? A private zoo??? :D

Nonetheless, I may have witnessed the beginning of it . . . :o Could have been a veritable sign. :D

I'm curious then, how long before "the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea."?

You would have passed away at an early age from a blanket stuffed down your throat to stop you from listening to the sound of your own voice while disturbing your betters.

Were you, by chance, vacinated with a phonograph needle? :o

Very true TAWP, but he does serve himself up as proof to the concept of Unintelligent Design. :D

Speaking of un-intelligent, still running from John L, Mr. Oh So Clever?

I believe the operative term here Ulysses G is 'Spineless'...

Tip has a reputation for polite and intelligent comments, not the sort of guy the dog-pit attracts these days. :o

This thread has gone mad! Oh well, it is Bedlam...

I've made it very clear that I don't debate with people who have huge mental blocks, among other deficiencies. Yet the two of you keep insisting that I'm hiding from John L. Just another tactic to twist things around in order to change the focus to something imaginary.

Porkie, you really do need to append the "Mr. Oh So Clever" with a "yuk, yuk" or a "chortle, chortle."

Boonie, I do believe that with the recent advances in medical technology there are procedures available where by you could have Porkie surgerically removed. Unless, of course, you don't mind being seen with him. :D

Tripe-aporn has a reputation for lame insults and long-winded posts with no content. He is afraid of John L as he very well should be.

John doesn't suffer fools gladly :o

Hey, watch it there, Porkie. You can trash me but bastardizing my wifey's name is like making fun of my mamma. :D
