When I sometimes go a web search I see on the window on my browser at the bottom Conecting to w3.mict.go.th

Does anyone know why I connect through (or am varified against) a Ministry of Comms site (it is a Proxy? I used to see that in Singapore and Myanmar)

It is the server that all internet users go through here in Thailand, as the Thai government sensor certain websites i.e. porn sites etc., or sites that are against the morality laws here. This is how they censor the sites and block the user from entering the site. If you are trying to get to a website on the blocked list you will get the following web page message: http://58.97.5.29/annouce/court.html

I usually get the " w3.mict.go.th " which times out so I have never gotten to the page Psych01 posted

And yes, it is the Thai governments feeble attempt at mimicking China's Great firewall
