Tropicalevo Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Also they should ban people splashing at cars and bikes when driving along ! ....but we all know that everything will carry on as usual on Samui 2

wayned Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Who's going to enforce than ban? When I lived in Samui, the BIB and old ladies were worth the most points! Even then, the BIB put their guns in plastic bags because they knew that they were fair game. Granted, it is dangerous, but it's the tourists that promulgate the melee! I now live i the sticks and it is basically dry except for the children with water pistols that will only shoot you if you tell then that it's Okay. 1
samuibeachcomber Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I agree with the replies here, much is said, little is done.
evadgib Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 They have yet to master traffic policing under normal conditions.... 1
yorkie100 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Also they should ban people splashing at cars and bikes when driving along ! ....but we all know that everything will carry on as usual on Samui Yes, but on Samui, at least Songkran only lasts for a day, unlike Issaan where it carries on for a week!!!
samuijimmy Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Really not even a day on most of Samui, usually from about noon, in most places.... (Chawang would probably be an exception! ) Tesco has water guns on sale already! .... better get one soon !

Anyhow I'm NEARLY getting to the age when I've stopped acting like a child at Songkran. 1

Popular Post maxheadroom007 Posted April 2, 2013 Popular Post Posted April 2, 2013 car.jpg This is how to do it! Excellent photo and exactly right. This is a fun time which only lasts a day here on Samui and averyone comes together for a great time. It would be a real shame if it were stopped as it also draws tourists who come to join in. When I first came here and got soaked I was confused but now I completely understand the concept and what its about and, as I said earlier, people, Thais and us guests, come together to share a great experience. I for one will have two massive bins of water on the back of my truck, many water pistols and buckets and we wont take no prisoners. Have a great day everyone and wash away the sins! 4
samuijimmy Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 A few pics for those who have not experienced Songkran!!! Just be prepared to get wet... It will be interesting to see if they do Ban the trucks filled with several 45 gallon tubs!!!! Big hoses should be banned! Some areas are busier than others! Coloured water too .... but the worst is when they put ice cubes in the water ! Ready -- aim --- Fire!
