Skype trojan forces Bitcoin mining, security firm warns

A trojan that can hijack a computer and force it into mining for Bitcoins - the virtual currency - has been spreading via Skype.

Antivirus firm Kaspersky Labs said attackers sent messages in various languages translating to "this my favourite picture of you".

The message included a malicious link which was, at its peak, being accessed more than 2,000 times every hour.

There will be a lot more of this kind of thing. The price of BTC has gone from $30 to $240 in less than a month. I got in fairly early, but there's probably still money to be made. Buy some BTC.

Well it's now back to 120... the price of BTC is consistently crazy with wild swings going either way, and now with it being so popular who knows what's going to happen.... I am cautiously optimistic.

I think the main danger is a Soros coming in and destroying the thing with some speculation, taking everyone's money. It's a small currency as currencies go...

Bitcoin mining seems a natural fit for a zombie network...
