ABCer Posted April 19, 2013 Share Posted April 19, 2013 Tourists love it - they swarm in like bees to honey for various reasons. Expats love it - otherwise we wouldn't be here for various reasons. Thais love it - naturally (it is their land) and so most of them say. So, the question of who loves Thailand seems to be an open and shut case, BUT... how is it possible that people are killing its shores and waters, killing all marine life including beautiful reefs? Polluting the warm sea water, covering the beaches with refuge and fishing out the coastal waters to death? I am talking here about the Gulf of Thailand which is quickly turning into a Dead Sea. No conservation, no regulation, no control over pollution. How long Thai tourism ads are going to work luring people in only to see beautiful beaches covered in tons of rubbish? That sums it up really - and worrying about the ecology is hardly our problem if the Thais can't even pick up their own garbage and still crap in the bushes. We discussed this question with friends many times and the conclusion is : - Khun Anand Panyarachun warned a few years ago that Thailand had also a dark side and we all know that. - but where in this region is live easier for foreigners?
