GUMBALL 3000 car rally coming to Phuket

From the 2nd - 4th May 2006 Gumball rally drivers will travel from Phuket to Thailand for the first time ever! The eight annual GUMBALL Rally kicks off from London on Sunday April 30th and arrives in Los Angeles on Sunday 7th May. Stars including Kill Bill’s star Darryl Hannah, Ryan Dunn, Oscar winner Adrien Brody, MTV’s Bam Margera, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, hip hop superstar Missy Elliot, Pink and many others will all travel from London through Europe before coming to Phuket and Bangkok.

On Sunday 30th April, 120 of the worlds more fantastic cars, notorious celebrities and eccentric characters will set off from London, where car’s will perform a ‘live parade’ through the centre before they set off on their 3000 mile adventure across three continents. The route will leave London, passing through Brussels, Vienna, Budapest and finishing the first leg in Belgrade, Serbia. From here cars will be airlifted in Russian antanov’s to Phuket in Thailand where they will continue the second 1000 mile leg of the rally up to Bangkok. Cars are airlifted again to Salt Lake City, Utah where Gumballers will take the amazing route to Las Vegas through the Salt Flats, finishing in Los Angeles on Rodeo Drive. After the 3000 miles are complete everyone can relax and unwind at a party in the Playboy Mansion.

The Gumballers will drive and fly the following 3000-mile route:

30th April : London – Brussels

1st May: Vienna – Budapest

2nd May: Budapest – Belgrade – Phuket (Thailand)

3rd May: Phuket (Thailand)

4th May: Bangkok

5th May: Bangkok – Salt Lake City

6th May: Salt Lake City – Bonne Ville Salt Flats – Las Vegas

7th May: Las Vegas – Los Angeles (Rodeo Drive)

Since 1999, the Gumball 3000 Rally has become the annual playground for rock stars and supermodels, partying and driving 3000 miles in their own amazing cars alongside billionaires, skateboarders, film stars and fashion icons in an 8-day gruelling adrenalin-fuelled adventure. In 2005, over 3 million people took to the streets in 13 countries to watch the Gumball 3000 Rally with coverage broadcast in 153 countries.

The website doesn't mention Phuket so maybe they are not coming here... nice flash on website

Yeah, it says the Asian leg is Langkawi to Bangkok, no mention of Phuket at all :o

Would be cool if they did come here though
