Diesel Engine Soot

Featured Replies

I just had a real nasty bout of bronchitis but what it is puzzling me is where it came from.

Consider the following and help me think this through if you will.

The doctor thought that my sinus had been infected with diesel soot the infection then spread onto my chest.

I live in Jomtien close to the sea.

The wind is SSW most of the time off the sea. So should be clean no?

I do not go out much and don't meet strange people, (except in here of course :o )

I like to sit outside on my deck and read a book. The GF always tells me "don't sit outside you will get sick" Why? What does she know that I don't

I'm not convinced that the virus is in the air in view of the prevailing wind so where did it come from or am I just becoming an old f*rt and should move next to Mr. Mobi at Marbachan for the clean air?

I remember when I moved to Jomtien the white plastic pool furniture would stay clean for weeks but now she is out there every day cleaning off the grime.

What say you. Do I have to sell up and move or what?

A few thoughts:

Maybe the polluted air is drifing in off the sea from further up the coast - Pattaya, Chon Buri or even Samut Prakan, or down the coast from Rayong. All have heavy industrial areas.

I wouldn't rush into anything. See if the bronchitis comes back again.

There should be a way to check the amount of pollution in the air - a meter of some sort. May be worth investigating - at least you would know for sure one way or the other.

I assume you don't smoke.

You're welcome up here any time :o Beautiful clean air, and I'll show you our 'driving street' :D

One thought just came up.......It could caused from red tide

Red tide toxin does cause respiratory problems such as asthma, sinus and throat problems if you swim in it or eating contaminated seafood caught during red tide

This is a widespread problem for residents along florida coast area

Try to Google it for more info.---I think there are 2 drugs that can cure this
