Fonda Shot Down

For Jane Fonda the enemy was her government and the US military. Has anyone seen the film clips of her sitting in the flack gun seat taking aim and then clapping and laughing and searching the onlookers for approval? This psychological issue has come out in her books, the need to seek approval that she never got from her father. Another screwed up movie star in therapy and she should have more cerdibility than most. Ha!

I watched her apology on television. It was worded to please the 'quick to shun' political left while hoping to gain approval from the general public. It was mealy mouth mumbo jumbo designed to help sell her new book. The apology was worth nothing because she offered it whilst seeking to profit from it. That warrants a big "f you" in my book. :D:D:D

Her apologies were lame. She shouldn't have to apologize for what she did. She opposed baby killers and rapists in the name of democracy. She should have joined the viets and killed a few american soldiers to set an example.

Criminee Butterfly that is some weakass tea. I agree with Boon. What is up? You been getting your loving elsewhere?

Don't ask - Don't tell... :o

And so on..

Isn't it time you stopped this endless personal criticism of posters who don't agree with your lame opinions.

Butterfly's post may have been over the top but you appear to be suffering from selective memory loss regarding the civilian casualties in Vietnam.

"If they run they're Viet Cong. If they stand still they're well disciplined Vietcong".

We're debating Hanoi Jane here, lampy - get with the program.

It's not a discussion on the merits of the Vietnam War... :o

I believe that my twenty years in the U.S. Military helped to protect peoples rights within in our country allowing them to speak as they wish and act in any legal manner that they see fit to include what Ms. Fonda did. Whether I agree with her specific actions is another story all together.

I was also upset when she was at the Main Gate of Fort Hood, Texas, as I passed thorugh the gate enroute to the tropical paradise called Vietnam on 1969.

For those of you that recognize it, my credentials are below:

Well done mouse.

No matter how these wind-up artists try to spin it, Jane Fonda was a traitor to her country and gave aid and comfort to the enemy.

So mote it be...

I know I'm stating the obvious but here goes.

Last time I looked Hanoi was the capital of Vietnam.

Your criticism of Jane Fonda refers to her actions during the Vietnam War.

Or do we debate on your terms only ala' Barepit. (Bare of posters :o )

Butterfly is a very sporting poster. His trolling is proof of that. His troll was not typical of his efforts. I feel as if he is holding back and saving his best stuff.

Is the quote from a movie? Full Metal Jacket?

Full Metal Jacket...

Right, saw it last night. Excellent movie.

Why quote a movie as if to quote our troops?

Why quote a movie as if to quote our troops?

It's a well known quote from a popular movie. No other motive intended. Most well rounded people will recognise it, as you did.

I love it! Well rounded people watch Full-Metal Jacket. There is hope for the world after all.

And you didn't recognise it. Oh well don't take it as an insult.

Well rounded generally means IMHO, having a view on a lot of levels.

She was only making a point, challenging the colonialist warmongers and, admit it, succeeded in putting an end to this war of economic interest against the will of the rising independence movement in Vietnam.

You should thank her that you are still alive, and quit trolling in Bedlam. :o

Was that some kind of a threat, (surely not :o ) or are you admitting Jane Fonda was right ?

It's just a cartoon poking fun at the anti-military mindset is all.

No evil meanings or intentions...jeeeze.... :D

And very poor taste as usual. But again society is not made of the military but peace loving civilians, thank god. All society centered around the military are dysfonctional. That explains your mindset.

Actually I am kinda fond of Jane (yes pun intended) ... met her a few times in Atlanta ... she's a passionate eloquent woman.

The best thing about here is she's got HUGE huevos .... plenty of guys that believed the Vietnam Conflict was just wrong wrong wrong ... but didn't have the eggs to say no ... much less do it publicly in an attempt to influence policy

But since the US was not in a state of war ... :o

But since the US was not in a state of war

The Tonkin Gulf Resolution sorta took care of that... :o

Nah ... that was just another case of the "eggless" ... this time eggless lawmakers not actually declaring war .... :o

Not to mention the The Tonkin Gulf Resolution was repealed BEFORE Jane went to Vietnam

Don't let facts blind poor Boon Mee

yeah ... well ... seems like many people old enough to have lived through the USA's involvement in Vietnam just never looked at the facts .. they just bouight the story .....

Yeah, well, some of us lived the story too... :o

Lots of us lived the story - but still didn't buy the official line. :o

Yes, and most of them were young people who were trying to avoid serving in the military for selfish reasons or others who were just into the trendy anti-war movement of the 60s - fashion with no thought at all. :o

I didn't think there was any thought behind fashion to begin with? Pretty much monkey see monkey do, ya know.

Some people saw the insanity of war and made their choices based on what they knew to be true. How many guys volunteered for Nam? Granted, there's always going to be some, and even some who served multiple tours. But most were drafted and if they had the choice wouldn't have gone. Remember, Nam was the largest draft ever. :o
