A fire at Chatuchak market on Friday morning damaged 36 shops in Project 6, opposite Mor Chit BTS station. The cost of the damage is estimated to be 20 million baht.

Police at Bang Sue station said at least 10 fire trucks and their crews were sent to the scene and took around 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

A witness told the police that they saw sparks coming from some electrical wiring, so investigators suspect the blaze was caused by an electrical short circuit.
