The only weakness I see is the somewhat low resolution screen; vertical resolution is critical to me to see as much content as possible without needing to scroll. But I have to say that is a huge amount of computer for a nice price. Wow, I can remember when a nice laptop meant spending about $5000 USD.

I have actually been looking at that model myself

In the UK it can be found here

http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Aspire_5672...026/version.asp

Price of 1129.95GBP and at todays rates its almost 77,000THB so the saving would pay my hotel bill for my next week in Thailand ;-)

I have a pretty powerful desktop though - a self build shuttle and do not need the laptop for a few months and Core Duo processor prices are being cut in May so i will probably wait till after then.

The desktop will become my media centre after that.

yeah..i saw many models of laptops that are pretty cheap in the US.

Unfortunately, it would take a fortune to ship those laptops here!

and Prakanong, the one you're lookin at has better specs that mine. 2GB DDR2 ..and 120 HDD!

The 2 Gig or Ram would be nice but 20 GIG on the HD drive does not bother me.

I have 250 on my desktop and 200GB on my USD External disk.

I have also been looking at the Maxtor or Yellow Machine Terabit External boxes and SAN units for when I get settled somewhere and really set up my home digital system :D

Although I have been in IT for 17 years I would not describe myself as a geek but may be becoming one lately :o

A TB in the home! - I can remember when we got our first terabyte at the largest Sat TV Company in the UK and we thought it was an outrageous amount of storage.
