from the NZ immigration site I can understand the nine months in eighteen months rule for visits to NZ. I am planning to rotate three months in NZ with three monhts in Thailand continuously with a bit of time adjustment to keep within the nine months in eighteen months rule.

However, the site says you have to stay out of NZ for the amount of time you have been in NZ during any eighteen month period BUT it seems to be referring to a continious period rather than coming and going as described above.

Anyone done this kinda thing know the score?
