Crime Myanmar Worker Arrested for Stealing Nearly 1 Million Baht in Cash & Gold from Fellow Labour
Lets say the victim is paid 400 Baht day and saves 300 of it. Works out to about 9 years of toil and along time to have accumulated wealth stuffed under a mattress. Hard to believe, IMHO he was into more than hard labour and the accused knew about! -

Importing personal belongings
Agree with all the posts above. Paying for excess weight as much as airline permits is good option as mentioned above. Over time. Also cut what you want to bring. I mean books? -

Transport Mukdahan Governor Confirms Airport Project Will Proceed Following Cabinet Directive
Picture courtesy of Kaoded. The Governor of Mukdahan, Mr. Worrayan Boonnarat, has firmly confirmed that the development of Mukdahan Airport will continue as planned, despite recent national media reports suggesting the Ministry of Transport had scrapped the project due to concerns over economic viability. Speaking at a press conference held at the Kaeng Kabao meeting room in the Mukdahan Provincial Hall, Governor Worrayan was joined by Mr. Kanit Pantayo, President of the Mukdahan Provincial Tourism Industry Council, Ms. Yaowalak Tangprakit, President of the Mukdahan Tourism Industry Association, and representatives from the Indochina Market business community. He addressed the confusion caused by central media outlets, which cited a Department of Airports study indicating that the project lacked economic justification. “At present, the Mukdahan airport project is still moving forward,” the governor stated, noting that the 2025 fiscal year budget still includes funding for both the feasibility study and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Governor Worrayan also clarified that before proceeding with the master planning and infrastructure design, including runways, taxiways, and aircraft aprons, a comprehensive feasibility study had already been completed. This process had included a cost-benefit analysis. Consultants were subsequently hired to draft the master plan, and once finalised, the project will be submitted to the National Environment Board for evaluation before proceeding to budget allocation. He further emphasised that the recent off-site Cabinet meeting in Nakhon Phanom on 29 April had reinforced the government’s commitment to the project. At that meeting, the private sector proposed fast-tracking the airport development, and the Cabinet issued a resolution instructing the Ministry of Transport and other relevant agencies to expedite the process. As an interim measure, the governor revealed that travellers could utilise Savannakhet Airport in neighbouring Laos to access Mukdahan and surrounding areas until the local airport is completed. The governor’s statement sends a strong message that the Mukdahan Airport project remains a priority for regional connectivity and economic development, in line with national policy. Ensuring your sim is registered correctly so banking isn't affected
Typical because it's a disorganized mess. My cell phone service is w/True- has been for many years. Postpaid. I don't have a SIM card; I have an E-SIM. For many weeks now I have been getting True text messages to "update my SIM card". Weeks ago when I called to ask for the details of this "upgrade" the response was I would have better cell phone service with an "upgraded" SIM. When I replied I didn't have a SIM, the rep responded "thank you" and that was the end of the call. Still for weeks continued to receive True text messages to "update my SIM card"; both my wife and I went to a True store in the mall with our E-SIM cell phones to discuss this "upgrade" the rep quickly responded that it was not necessary for either of us to do anything and we left the store. The True text messages to "update my SIM card" continue to this day. Typical. -

Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailand’s Tourist Charm
Oh no, many miserable skint farangs are out in force again thinking they have some say in what goes on in Thailand. The Thai government and tourist authority are not interested in your constant squealing about prices, you are nothing compared to the 40(ish) millions of tourists who come to Thailand to spend each year. They have been saying for years they wish to cater for more upmarket tourists willing to spend a lot of money over a two week visit, they are the target crowd not the winging so called ex-pat (annual temporary visa extensions) on their miserable £1500 a month spending budget. Phuket is reassuringly expensive (compared to the back of beyond, up-country squalid village) , it keeps the moaning skint ex-pats away. I have not met any tourist or so called expats living in Phuket who thinks it is expensive compared to many other countries in the world, as far as I can see it is dirt cheap.
