Do Bars Close In Laos For Khao Phansa?

I am planning a trip to Vientiane in late July and I notice that 22nd is Khao Phansa, in Thailand that would be a 'dry' day. Do the bars in Laos follow the same rules as Thailand? Does anyone know what the rules are in Laos on 'Buddha Days'. Thanks

Last week I did a visa run from Vientiane to Nong Khai. I returned to Laos on the 25th, which was the start of a 3 day Buddhist festival in TH (don't remember the name but it was Bang Fai time) - all bars in Thailand that day had definitely planned to close, but all bars in Vientiane were definitely open that night. I'm almost certain the same rules are not followed in Laos. :-)

In the 10 years I have been living here in Laos I don't ever recall any bars closing. Don't worry, it's not Thailand
