Buying A Condo In Bangkok

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend the top 5-10:

1) new (under 5 years)

2) older (10 or more years)

condos in Bangkok, and why they think so.

My criteria for "top" quality includes:

1) good management (such as by Savills, CBRE etc)

2) no domination by a particular family/faction on the committee

3) well decorated, maintained

4) 20m swimming pool

5) easy access to transport, (taxis)

6) good views from high floors

Thanks.

Gosh, this seems to be proving more difficult than I thought. I thought there would be ringing endorsements from those on TV who have previously raved about The Sukhothai Residences, (but then again, judging by the number of lights on at night I don't think many people live there), The Met, Park Chidlom etc etc for the new category, and the usual suspects for the older category, such as Somkid Garden, Sathorn Park Place. But maybe the market is just too saturated.

Don't do it unless you are planning to keep it. From my own experience selling a second hand unit is very difficult and there does not seem to be much of a market. It's not like most countries where there a teams of agents willing to work with you to sell your property. Rent!
