Please Help Me Find A Decent Condo In Bangkok!

Hello!

I recently got accepted to Chulalongkorn University internatinoal programs but, the Chulalongkorn University does not allow any foreign nationals to their dormitories... So I am looking for a condo near chulalongkorn university and please help me find any decent condos near chulalongkorn university around 5000-8000 baht. Well... if the condo is decent but, a little bit far from the school, I am perfectly fine with taking BTS or MRT to school as long as the station is no more than 5 mins walk from the condo (I tried to walk around in Bangkok but, I just couldn't do it under the sweltering heat...)

I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP!

THANK YOU!

Its a few years since I rented in Bangkok, Thong Lor has plenty but that may be far out for you, have you looked at the BTS stops and areas around there, I'm sure there are multiple places available, I'm not clear about your definition of condo but at that price you are looking at a 1 room with ensuite shower..unless you travel further out. Does the univ not have a list of recommendations?

You won't find a "condo" in that range but there are lots of apartments - studios, to be specific.

Go to Petchubure Soi-s 5 and 7 - deep into the soi. For instance, Avenue Mansion has lots of Chula students and small studios for 6,500 (1-bedroom for 14,000) - rates may have gone up slightly.

Look around that neighborhood, including other side of Phayathai (a small soi next to building with fitness center on ground level has interesting affordable places). These are all 'around' the Phayathai BTS stop, which is also the beginning/end of the Air Link skytrain to the airport.

Have you tried the U Centre behind sports stadium (next to MBK)?

Can't find Eng on the rather strange website. They used to be really oversubscribed but then built another building so maybe more rooms available.

It's been about 7 or 8 years since I lived there, but there used to be a lot of studio type condo units around MBK.. I do believe however, they were a lot more than what your looking for. At least the good ones. Keep looking, start around MBK and circle out..

Near Surasak BTS station, behind St. Louis Hospital, there are many apartments in that price range. Plenty of food options as well as St. Louis area is known for good street food.

You can also check the apartments near Ari BTS. There is one apartment called "M.A.P" hiding down Phahonyotin Soi 9 ( Toyota showroom at the beginning of the Soi). My ex used to stay there. It costed around 5500-6500 thb per month, basic studio room but it's quiet and peaceful. It takes around 7 mins walk to BTS Ari or only 5 baht by motorbike taxi. Ari is good for street food and if you are crafting for farang food, you can check some stuff at villa market right at Ari BTS.
