He's right on this one. Thailand's roads are among the worst I've seen in the few countries I've visited, along with almost all of the US states, which have very good road departments and know how to fix them , and this coming from New Jersey, where potholes are legendary. There though there are a much higher percentage of autos on the roads, along with severe weather changes and salt, which affect roads. Here it takes a long time to repair many roads, and they repair roads that don't need it, re-paving only a few months after doing it earlier. This is done all over for budgets, and it's a stupid practice, as there are roads very close to the repaired ones that are in horrible condition. The highways here aren't too bad, although many of the shoulder areas are patched instead of repaired. The drivers here are much worse, which accounts for the high death rates daily, but this type of accident can happen anywhere a person doesn't follow the speed limits.
