Given my preoccupation (obsession ?) with diving scum, here is a thread devoted to their vile exploits.

From the Argentina vs. Ecuador Qualifier last night. Felipe Caicedo exhibits his talent. Unfortunately, the clip doesn't show his vehement protestations upon not picking up a PK.

Ex Man City, and good they sent him packing.

Baring in mind Maradona got hacked to pieces in almost every game he played by totally inferior sportsmen, i don't blame him. teams used to share out the Maradona fouls.

Klinnsmann the master of them all.

Klinnsmann the master of them all.

excuse me!! Klinsmen didn't dive when he was in England, he was superb. He took some bad treatment and dealt with it and acknowledge it. Thats a contributing factor of him earning player of the year. the partnership with Sheringham was one of the best. Sure, prior to his coming to England he was bad but over here he was nye on faultless.

Antways, aside of that i like you because you don't seem as plastic as you're average club fans

You joker you.

Jurgen Klinsmann. An old school diver, Klinsmann brought a postmodern perspective to the art with a legendary celebration which acknowledged his reputation. Klinsmann always had an appreciation for the aesthetic of diving and his balletic grace makes him one of the most celebrated divers to ever grace Premier League stadia.

But I'll leave Vinnie Jones to sum up:

All this is starting to creep up on clubs. You hear this talk of Gareth Bale but he’s not doing anything that David Ginola wasn’t doing. He was 6ft 4ins and you’d see him rolling all over the place.

I forgot you have a long history of *ahem* "artistic players".

A repulsive piece of simulation by Balotelli last night at the death to "earn" a PK and a draw with Ajax.1zgarz5.gif.pagespeed.ce.GJfs_tQOQ-.gif

A ridiculous decision by the referee and again demonstrating the total uselessness of the spare behind the goal.

cavani scored the winner?

True that, but Suarez's antics were a game changer. Maybe he tripped over a molecule.whistling.gif

none of the argentine players seemed to accuse him of diving. but then this may be because they all consider diving part of the game in south america and aren't bothered by it. but then we've had this discussion before.

Were you on the pitch when the Argies were complaining to the ref ?biggrin.png Is Ashley Young from South America ? I guess that slipped by me.whistling.gif

I dont think you could blame Suarez here. He might of went down under a soft elbow on the shoulder, but it wasn't a dive. It certainly wasn't a penalty. The officials got it really wrong, as I don't see how they've been conned. 90% of the time that would be play on.

Yea Bob, not a penalty and he might have been touched, but the fall was all his doing for me. At any rate I'm not trying to start another let's lynch Suarez movement.thumbsup.gif Just making sure my Diving Scum thread stays active.

BTW, Maxi Rodriguez had a brace and has been on fire in the Argentina league. I never thought I would see the turnaround in form from him after his terrible knee injury some years ago. He seems to be better now than in his brief spell with Liverpool.

Still trying to work your post out Bob.

It was a dive.(soft elbow on the shoulder clap2.gif sorry not having that one mate )

It certainly wasn't a penalty.

The ref got it wrong.

How has the ref and the other team not been conned?

Officials get it wrong (often), they give free kicks or a penalty when they shouldn't.

Suarez had no chance of getting to that ball. The player in front had cleared the ball by the time he went down. Suarez was not robbed of a goal scoring opportunity. The linesman had a perfect view and time comprehend. I just think it is a really crap bit of refereeing.
