New Indian Restaurant

I've been ordering Indian Food from a new place called Momma's Kitchen and I've been really impressed. I do know the owner. She used to be a neighbor of ours and would regularly bring over food. She's Thai, but she lived 18 years in Pakistan (maybe I should call this subcontinental cuisine?) and learned how to cook from her mother-in-law.) I've never been much impressed with the local Indian restaurants. The spices taste kind of muddled. But in the dishes I get from Momma's Kitchen you can taste the different spice flavors very distinctly. She grinds the spices herself. You can order from the restaurant via MealsonWheels4u.com. Maybe I shouldn't call it a restaurant since it's strictly a take-out place.

Yess.. location would be good to have.

(I'll use meals on wheels when I'm 84 and can't get out of my retirement home. :) )

If it is a take out place where is it located.

Good question. 8 Charoenphratet Soi 1. It's somewhere off the Night Bazaar. Phone number is 088 260 1288. I think the located on the second floor of a building. I've only ordered by phone. As I noted above, you can order through mealsonwheels4u.com Here are GPS coordinates from google. 18.786557,99.001879

Thanks guys. The Grub looks authentic. I will make sure to patronise when next in CM

Thanks for the heads up. One of my favourite cusines, and very close to me. Here's to happy eating!

You always sound as if you are at least 84.

Anyway for 90 baht on a cold and stormy night Meals on Wheels is not such a bad idea.

Yeah, Meals on Wheels does a great job. 90 baht is a bargain compared to taking a songthaew to and from the restaurant and having the food cold when I arrive home. Those Meals on Wheels motorbikes really move quickly thru traffic and get the meals to you piping hot. Plus, if you're a repeat customer, they've already entered your phone number and address into their database. Just call and they'll answer with "Good evening, Nancy. and later ask if I still live at XXXXX condo."

Many years ago down the soi next to Billy's old location off Kampaeng Din Road there was a Thai woman who cooked fantastic Pakistani food from a few tables in front of a guesthouse. Does anyone know whether this is the same woman?

I tried them and thought they were mediocre at best. sad.png

Strictly for information. Were you able to go to the restaurant or is it strictly take out?

Ah okay, thanks! I know the soi, go there sometimes for Muslim food.

I also found the place online, some nice pictures posted: https://www.facebook.com/mamaninaskitchen

Crikey take a look at that Facebook page. I sure hope the dead looking white moggy isn't going in one of their curries !!!! blink.png
