Wanted urgently - Reliable driver with covered truck or high-roofed van

Anybody know of a reliable expat or Thai national with a high-sided longbed covered truck - or a high-roofed commercial van?

I need to move some furniture items from Udon Thani to Nakhon Sawan. Distance 485 kms (970kms return trip).

Problem item is a refrigerator 180cms high which must stay upright and a glass unit (160cms long x 50 x50) which must lie flat.

Plus small washing machine, Large TV cabinet, 42" TV and sound system, kitchen electrical appliances etc..

Needs to be moved in next 4-5 days.

A previous arrangment with an expat friend has fallen through because of a sudden death in his family.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Udon's a big enough town, have you tried asking around? Sounds small enough a load a regular Songtaew could do it the benches fold up, the drivers usually know someone they can borrow the tarps, ropes blankets etc.

Of course you've got to get your hands dirty, supervise hands-on yourself, but that way shouldn't cost more than a few thousand maybe 6-7?

Songtaews aren't designed for 1,000 km round trips. I would very much doubt you would save anything with an arrangement like that.

I have already considered that Boosta and thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately the only Songtaew's I have come across do not look fit for purpose and I am reminded that a pal of mine lost his entire shipment when a Songtaew driver when the entire contents disappeared en-route to Surin; when he stopped to go to the bathroom. With the Police not being able to prove or disprove anything.

Hence I am looking for a personal recommendation or an expat who wants to earn some extra baht. Thanks anyway.
