Popular Post Baerboxer
I mean seriously, you have to be f'd up in the head to stab and or kill someone. What is wrong with people ? ! What planet have you been on? Throughout recorded historty mankind has fought and killed one another - with or without weapons. Sadly, we ain't likely to change - unless we get something put in the water or genetically engineered. Man's inhumanity to man - always has been and always will be.
Fantastic5
Never to be seen or heard of, Sweden will not sent him back to Thailand, because the land of smile still has capital punishments for murder. You say that, but England sent one of thers back and it is against there policy to extradite capital offenders where there is capital punishment. Potosi
That was news more than half a year ago. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/8161452/Alleged-killer-of-Kiwi-now-on-the-run Just avoid Thailand if you are a decent human being, and believe in justice. It's no place you want to visit.

Oh, I'm sure "tourist arrivals" at SUV will be up again this year, no matter what's in the headlines or what's going on in the streets of Bangkok, Phuket or Pattaya.

nontabury
How ironic. Sweden won't extradite, but expects UK to extradite a certain Australian to them. Maybe the reason is because capital punishment is not involved. Regarding the case of the Brit who was extradited by the UK to Thailand. This was done because the Thai government guaranteed that in the event that the accused was found guilty, he would not be executed. Criminal charges in Sweden. Legs it to UK where his 'honest guv not true' is dismissed after going through the whole legal system, then he breaks his bail and hides somewhere where he's safe (sounds familiar come to think of it). Before you fall for the 'US is the big bad wolf' crap, just try to work out what bits of law you agree with. Britain has enough terrorists, sheltering behind international law. Now we've got a criminal who can be extradited, I'm happy, for one.

Your correct, though if he has duel citizenship, same as the Iranian/swede who also committed murder here in Thailand, it would be possible. If Thailand cannot extradite him, they could press the Swedes to prosecute and imprison him there, thus saving Thailand all the relevant expenses. Quite clever of the Thais if you think about it. Wombat6
Defendants sentenced to death are released on bail and disappear, murder suspects are released on bail and disappear, rapists are released on bail and disappear, kidnappers are released on bail and disappear - Maybe, only maybe it would be a good idea if the Thai courts did a critical review on that practice. It might help Thailand look less idiotic when they don't have to ask for "extradition" of a murder suspect they had officially allowed to leave their country in the first place. ...and ex-Prime Ministers are granted approval to travel to the Olympics and disappear. I wonder if the Thai Authorities have requested Dubai to extradite the fugitive ex Thai prime Minister who has a sentence to serve ?
