Decorating a birthdaycake

The girl we spoke first with, confessed, that she can't write Thai... we knew it from the beginning, her facial powder

ornaments were way too Burmese, but her spoken Thai and work attitude were top notch.

I visited a local market today and asked to get 1kg of rambutan. The seller took bunch of rambutans and put them to a bag. When he put the bag to a scale, it was exactly 1kg.

I was so impressed that I first made an 'that's both impossible and impressive' sound and then took a photo. Even the seller was proud of his approximation skills.

I think I'll never get a few extra rambutans from this shop as the seller will try to keep his measurement standars. My only hope is to get an discount of the price.
