Buying townhouse

Recommended Posts

From what I've read, foreigners can either own the house but not the land, or they start a company and purchase the house through the company. The foreigner controls 49 per cent of the shares and splits the remaining shares between up to seven Thai nationals. If you want to do either of these things you should contact a Thai lawyer.

You see mikekim1219 ... it all depends what you identify as a 'Townhouse'?

Are you suggesting a 2 story building with common walls on both sides?

Is there common ownership of the large parcel that all the properties are built on and the Structure simply owns a lot on the 'Body Corporate'?

... or the English Victorian model where it is the same as above but the building owns the land that it is built on.

Same but different ... and that difference is important.

It is a building with common walls on both side with two stories. Not sure about common ownership of the properties. What is the "Body Corporate"?

I just saw the building yesterday with introduction from a foreigner friends. He claims foreigner can buy but didn't provide anymore details..
