the wife and i are moving from bkk back north ( now that she is retired ) we have been renting for 6 years in bkk , everything payed in cash now that we are moving , after 1 months notice the landlord is insisting on my bank acc number ( to deposit what is left of deposit ) i said just give cash ( not the way it is done was the reply ) can i read more into this than there is ,or am i paranoidw00t.gif yours bigt

It's pretty normal that a deposit will be returned after the utility-bills have arrived since your departure.

You could go back to BKK to pick up the deposit or let the landlord transfer it into your bank-account.

If you insist on cash return it will be done, but not on your departure.

I would not worry. Many business dealings with Thai's I have been given a number for deposit. Not a problem at all.
