I'd be curious to know the status of this as well. My in-laws had a good potion of their land ruined due to the dam. I know the govt. finally paid them a portion of what they were supposed to get a few years ago. They are still waiting on the rest.

I think about 20 years there have been promises. From all political parties. Some NGOs made a big issue of it but soon lost interest when China started building bigger dams. The Bangkok Post used to feature this a lot but has become a society paper and forgotten all of its old investigations. I could also add th International Rivers Foundation Which after the early days could not sustain their interest.
