Types of hedge

Featured Replies

Hi

I just bought a house which has a 20m fence at the front which is only 3 feet high.

I don't want all the passersby looking into my house/garden, so looking to get a hedge.

Can anyone recommend a fast growing hedge?

Alternatively, anyone got any other ideas to block the garden, ie trees etc?

Thanks

NN

There is a thread on hedge's "why are there no hedges",,all so a bit on hedge's in the post on wooden fence posts.

A farm near me has a hedge of "don-makam-wun" in Thai, or tamarind, or Indian date ,he said that he grew the seeds in pots then planted them out in place, about a foot apart, he keeps it at about 5ft high ,and his cows help to keep it in trim as well,it looks tidy to,grown with manuar/ compost, should grow quick.

On a farm yesterday, the guy had a hedge growing it was about 7-8 foot tall a bit ragged in need of some tlc,. it could do the job.

Boragicceae or Carmona retuse(vahl) masam, in Thai ชาฮกเกียนั.

Some nice pic's on Thai google.
