How do you deal with termites?

I would love to keep our fight with termites as organic as possible. We are going to build a house up in Chiang Mai and avoiding all the poison in the foundation would be great!

Sadly, if you wish to stay 'organic' then build in concrete, steel and plastic ... not great for your carbon footprint, but nothing for them to eat, thus nothing to use nasty sprays to use.

Good advise from David,we built traditional 10 years ago ,now I am up for 250-300k to demolish the top floor and replace with steel construction.

Luckily the ground floor is concrete,(I never did like climbing the stairs anyway)
