PHUKET: A few hours after yesterday's seminar (August 29) to make jet-ski operators ‘brand ambassadors’ for Phuket, there was the latest in a long line of jet-ski ‘incidents’, this time involving an Australian tourist on Karon beach.

I think the Jet Ski operators on Patong are perfect Brand Ambassadors- finally some honesty about the state of Phuket.

This is a good opportunity to show how PW elaborates the story. The official is the head of the passport office reports TPN, whereas PW has her as

"a senior Thai official." Either way her remarks sum up Thailand's attitude toward foreigners- "give us the money and shut up about it, farang!"
