Popular Post theblether
Right for those that don't know I've had a rough time of it the last few weeks. It all started off when George refused to buy me a water melon for getting 5,000 Likes and went downhill from there. I've had cholera, a ruptured thigh muscle, done in Achilles heel, ruptured muscle again, Achilles heel done in again again. Fell of my motorbike at 80 klicks, done my feet in, had my pride battered when my pal who witnessed it said it was like watching a beach ball bouncing down the road. Had multiple injections for antibiotics, done my back in by elevating my feet, had medical tests done which showed that I've got high this and that and <deleted>, a parasite in my bowels. Anyway, I digress......... So I wandered into the bike rental place yesterday to find out how much the damage would cost me. I'd actually said to the guy ( who I've known for four years ), price it up, let me know, and if need be I'll just buy the bike. If he said to me 20,000K damage it wouldn't have shocked me. When I went in he was very gracious about my injuries then went on to say.........theblether, a lot of damage. We had to fix X Y and Z, A B C was out of alignment, we had to D E F and the man that fixed it all took ages to fix it. Silence Of The Blether. Wondering how much is this going to cost me. Being Scottish I squeaked out, ( I'm normally a baritone but when it comes to money I can't help myself ) how much? He looked me squarely in the eyes and said. 4,000 baht. I couldn't believe it. "You have been a customer for a long time theblether, I take no profit from the accident". Isn't that just a superb and caring attitude? Anyway, round 2......the degree of kindness shown to me has been just outstanding. The girls in the local cafe were making me special medicinal soup and sending me flowers, friends from many countries pouring through my door asking after me and running errands, and the staff in my hotel have been out of this world. To my farang friends that have come to my aid thank you so much, and the response of the Thai community here has been outstanding. Isn't that just a superb and caring attitude? Meanwhile back at the farm my Doctor, that also owns the hotel, decided that we were all going out last night. To be fair he had mentioned it on Thursday but I'm still not well. 8.30 last night I got a phone call from him, come now, we're leaving. I could see it far enough. Shower, changed, downstairs, into the van and off. As soon as I got into the van I noticed Mercedes Girl. Looking amazing. Anyway the bastids stitched me up, they sat her next to me and I spent all night going through two distinctly different emotions. One was watching her dance, move, giggle and be the life and soul of the party, the other was wondering what was going to kill me first. My pounding head, my palpitating heart, or the inexplicable pain in my back. We were at a place called Viva, an Elvis tribute place. Outside of my company there was only one other farang on the premises. He took a turn on stage and ghe was fantastic. The Thais were a rowdy bunch, dancing on chairs and bouncing about as if Elvis himself was in the building. It was a bit rough and ready but I love that, I just wish I was fit for it. Anyway the Doctor in his best match making mode decided that I should dance all night. Feeling a bit obligated up I went figuring that if I collapsed at least he would be able to resuscitate me. So there goes Mercedes Girl in full rock mode, she is a wonderful dancer and takes classes twice a week. I fancy myself as a bit of a mover myself but last night I was like a wounded Hippo with ducks feet. Mercedes Girl has been a stunning companion for me all Summer, fabulous in every way and she has shown me yet another side of Thailand. Anyway.......there's that moment when someone you care about but know you can't be with lands in your arms......the slow dance. So I held her, beautiful, stylish, black cascading hair, womanly in very way. The track was Help Me Make It Through The Night, So the Summer rolled past me, and the lyrics went right through me..... Yesterday is dead and gone and tomorrow’s out of sight. And it’s sad to be alone. Help me make it through the night. My head is still pounding, my back still killing me , but it doesn't matter....... I don’t care what’s right or wrong,I don’t try to understand. Let the devil take tomorrow. Lord, tonight I need a friend. MG is heading to the States this weekend, what can I say to her? Well I need to start off with the practicalities, "MG, sweetheart, whatever you do, don't stand on my feet" "Okay theblether, I will be careful" "You know that you are adorable" "yes, the Doctor told me you've got a parasite" "<deleted>? he did not!" "yes he did, he said, MG, theblether has a parasite, I said I know already, I've seen it" "Huh? what? do you mind? huh?" "Don;t you go all shy on me" "Do you mind, I'm trying to be romantic here" "Romantic? You? You must be feeling sick" and the band played....... Take the ribbon from your hair, Shake it loose and let it fall,Layin’ soft upon my skin. Like the shadows on the wall. At that moment I got a giggle and a wiggle and just what I was needing, the perfect end to a Summer romance. Another superb and caring Thai that's made my life better. Anyway when I get to 10,000 Likes George better get me a water melon or I'll be going in the huff. Just sayin' ps. The OP has been dedicated to Breadbin, seeing how he's complaining about a lack of original OP's. Over to your Sir. I

ABCer
Hey, blether, never knew you are such a dangerous mix of dance, music, motorbikes and parasites. There's a dead poet and a budding writer showing through. You must be a danger to many a MGs and a menace unto yourself. Take care, write more and if George isn't good for a watermelon I will award you two.

Commander Tamson
And here was me thinking another boring week on TV. Sorry to hear about all the damaged muscles; sign of getting old unfortunately. Liked the bit about the motorbike repair though. I find it the same here in Ubon. I kerbed the Merc about a month ago; both the front & rear nearside alloys chipped and the tyre walls torn. I thought God this is going to cost me a fortune [AMG alloys & shod with Pirelli P-Zeroes]. The nice man at the garage said no problem Commander, I'll have a wee word with the insurance man. Sure enough 2 new alloys and 4 (yes 4) new tyres. Try getting that type of service in the west? Hope you're feeling better soon

What? Yup. Moat water in my face at Songkran, Google Cholera Thailand, you'll get a shock. I'm away now. Yee Gawds!!! What treatment did you receive? Usual antibiotics and electrolytes. It's easy cured but it is an issue in Northern Thailand at least. Some travel sites recommend being vaccinated, as usual though that passed me by. ABC'er has it right, I'm a menace to myself. Anyway, there is a lot of Thai bashing, we have both recently experienced how fair our hosts can be. Magic,

Popular Post theblether
Eh, fabulous night out, and apologies to Mr WW.he is correct, I expected 20 K not 20,000 K. Me? I'm 47, MG is 50, and she is gorgeous, adorable......a truly stunning lady. Am I to be embarrassed that I'm in love with a 50 year old lady? No way. Here's what to do, get me a rope and hang me if I ever say that. I am a man, a gentleman. I will love who I want. I don't care about age. I will love that lady forever.......and I will be proud of it. Real men understand that.

What real men realise one day is that there is someone out there for everybody, throughout your life you can go through trials and tribulations and sometimes <deleted> up along the way and some times think? "What the <deleted> is going on in my life and why do I keep messing up", and then one day you meet someone who makes you smile, makes you think, makes you happy, makes you ecstatic and makes you realise that true love can happen... It aint Mills and Boon, It's life, and to those who capture the true love of their life and are happy with what they have got, best of luck to them... ENJOY...
