I ordered parts for a computer from Thanni.com last monday. I ordered most parts a desk top computer typically would have except hard drive and video card. All parts were said to be in stock on their website. The site also says that orders will be processed within 1-2 days and I got the fastest shipping method which said to be 1-2 days as well. I did this because I wanted to have the computer for Friday - for business purposes. I even told them I was in a hurry and that not getting it on time would cost me money.

What ended up happening is that I ordered on a Monday and sent them the money. They did not respond until Thursday. They told me that they did not have most of the parts I had requested - just the case, CPU cooler, thermal paste and mouse/keyboard. They told me to substitute items for others on their website. I looked and saw that none were appropriate for my needs. I told them that I no longer wanted the computer, as I didn't have any use for these parts on their own.

Today (Saturday) they messaged me that they cannot cancel the items that have already "been prepared for shipment". That they will refund me the difference. This is an unreasonable policy when you expect someone to order a computer from your site. That means if you order from them and just one crucial component is not available, you'll end up with a useless computer. Another part of this process that was completely unacceptable was the lack of communication and the very long delay in service.

I would strongly suggest you order your computer parts from another company rather than dealing with the unethical business that is Thanni.com

Finally, if someone knows of any (legal or otherwise) recourse I might have I would greatly appreciate it.

they don't even have Department of Business Development registered trust mark and why ordered from them in the first place.

there are more reputable online store than this.

How does a person go about getting a business like this shut down? I have plenty of money if that would help the cause - and this being Thailand I imagine it would.

Did you order on a western card? If so, state you wish to cancel all orders and inform them that you will file a chargeback if they do not cancel and give a full refund. Refuse any delivery, and if they do not refund file a chargeback - you have not 'received the goods as promised at the time of purchase' which covers you for a claim on most western issued cards.

Might also be worth finding out from your card issuer whether the payment was presented as a 'cardholder present' transaction - often in Thailand this is done for phone and web orders, in breach of all t's and c's for the merchant.

If you paid via bank transfer - you might be a bit stuffed unfortunately.

I wanted to update about my order with Thanni.com

The items have still not come in the mail and I have still not received a full refund. I have brought this up weekly with them and they say it is some problem with shipping.

So to add to the already awful experience I've had with them, it has taken them almost a month already to fulfil only a partial order.

If this order never comes through should I contact the police? At this point it seems like basic theft to me.

In Thailand you've always got to email/phone the online company and check whether they really have the product in stock or can get it w/i a reasonable period of time.

No exceptions.

An online catalog is about like a Thai restaurant menu. They don't have half of what's shown and can't get it either.
