We had three buses catch fire this last week, one of which was a sleeper bus, fortunately with no loss of life although this hasn't always been the case.

Many backpackers use sleeper buses because they are so cheap and also the saving of accommodation costs but one should ask at what cost in relation to safety.

Today two Express bases were racing to pick up passengers on the side of the road and got out of control and ran over the prospective passenger. Thankfully the lady was not killed but received extensive injuries including broken shoulder. She is in intensive care. There is some fear she may succumb to her injuries.
