elephant on Chao Faa West

Featured Replies

I know everyone is going to think I am full of crap but I just almost clipped an elephant near Shanti Lodge. I was undertaking a samlor and it was my fault

Did anyone else see it or are my drinks to strong?

Whaaat? You did it twice, or 2 elephants?

I have had many elephant incidents but its the first time I have seen one on Chao Faa. I cant believe no one else saw it. I am going back down that way and I will have my camera ready

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Was it pink?

I have lived here full time for a lot of years, I drive every day, and I have never had an elephant incident. I guess I have just been lucky biggrin.png

Its crazy. I have never seen an elephant there. It was just up from Shanti Lodge and towards the PTT. Someone else must have seen it.

was it playing cards with a 6' tall rabbit?

There's an elephant camp not that far from there up the Big Budda Rd.

Quite often yes, but this time I believe you.

I'm surprised it did not have the tail lights you suggested last time though.

Yes but it was a fair way from the camp on the Big Buddha road Old Croc. It would have taken an hour or 2 to get that for.

Steven it would make more sense to attatch old CDs to their tail and the seat. And even on their trunks and foreheads. When a car headlight is shone on a CD it is immediately lit up. It works on Samlors and I have also seen this on dark streets with tight corners

I disagree.

I live a few minutes away from Shanti and am close enough to the first elephant camp at the base of the hill to hear trumpeting at night. I'm sure an elephant could cover the distance in 15 minutes or less. They can walk quite fast.

Where it would be going to from there I don't know.
