LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
You need to show health insurance valid for at least 10 months at the time of application. So it would be risky to make your insurance start at a later date. Normally you could provide it at the end of the endorsment process, but they can also ask for it at the beginning (as they did for me, even if i had send them the Document Request Acknowledgement Form). The more you follow what they ask, even if not always relevant, the better chances you'll be approved. -

Tourism Thailand Faces Drop in Tourist Arrivals Amidst Regional Rivalry
I love Koh Chang and feel sorry about your recent troubles due to the chaos of border fighting which is certainly a no no for attracting tourists. As a long time visitor of Koh Chang , I think I have stayed in every upmarket hotel from White Sands to Kai Bee. Mostly the latter. I will say that the hotels have gone a bit over the top with their rates in the last 2 years. I do admit that it’s not only a problem in KChang, but the island is difficult to get to and for me a car with private driver there and back to Bangkok starts to add up. The flight option doesn’t save time . Another problem is that I have also noticed that the main villages there are being a bit neglected, with trash . It was much cleaner when there were less tourists. When you pay more, you expect more. -

Thai - Cambodia Conflict Mass Exodus: 50,000 Cambodians Flee Thailand Amid Tensions!
Picture courtesy of Amarin TV A staggering 50,000 Cambodian migrant workers have been reported leaving Thailand to return to their homeland, sparked by recent border clashes. The mass departure comes through a bustling checkpoint in Chanthaburi province, seeing an estimated 20,000 individuals head to Battambang, Cambodia, just today. More are expected in the coming days due to the ongoing conflict between the two nations. The Baan Laem border checkpoint has witnessed a daily surge, with at least 10,000 Cambodians crossing back into their country each day. These workers, primarily employed in agriculture and construction, are responding to severe warnings from Phnom Penh. Relatives back in Cambodia have cautioned them about potential denaturalisation and land confiscation if they do not return promptly due to the tensions, reported Thai Newsroom. Currently, over 435,000 Cambodians earn their livelihoods in Thailand, but many are now compelled to abandon their jobs to ensure their citizenship and family lands remain secure. This mass movement highlights the strain between the neighbouring countries, causing significant upheaval in the lives of workers and their families. The border conflicts have intensified, prompting this swift and massive return. Cambodian workers and their families grapple with challenging decisions, juggling their employment in Thailand with domestic pressures and threats. This scenario underscores the volatile situation at the border, leaving thousands in a state of uncertainty and flux. A resolution remains elusive, and these departures signal a critical moment in the lives of many Cambodian nationals. As the situation develops, the full impact on the labour market and local economies in both nations is yet to be seen. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Thai Newsroom 2025-08-07 -
